Home Loan EMI Calculator
Find the monthly instalment for any home loan and see how much of what you pay goes to interest, year by year.
How this is calculated
EMI = P × r × (1 + r)ⁿ ÷ ((1 + r)ⁿ − 1), where P is the loan amount, r is the monthly interest rate (annual rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100) and n is the number of monthly instalments.
Frequently asked questions
Does a longer tenure save money?
A longer tenure lowers the EMI but increases the total interest paid. Part-prepayments early in the loan reduce interest the most.
Is the EMI fixed?
On floating-rate loans the EMI or tenure changes when the lender resets the rate. Re-run the calculator with the new rate to see the effect.
