How this is calculated
Floor area of every room is added up, then a wastage allowance is applied for cuts: about 7% for straight laying, 12% for diagonal and 15% for herringbone.
Tiles = area × (1 + wastage) ÷ area of one tile, rounded up; boxes are rounded up too. Skirting = room perimeters minus door widths.

How much extra tile should I buy?
Keep 7–10% extra for straight patterns and 12–15% for diagonal or herringbone, plus a few spare tiles from the same batch for future repairs.
